Scope of services
As Full-Service Client Consultant for the project Aqvila were responsible for all design services in connection with the conceptual design, the environmental impact assessment, the building permit application and the tender documentation. These services included project and design management, design of civil, structural and architectural works as well as design of electrical, mechanical and fire protection installations and LEED screening. Furthermore, Aqvila’s services include screening and pre-qualification of contractors, tender evaluation, contracting of a FIDIC “Plant and Design-Build” contract, and construction management and supervision during the entire construction phase.
A total of 400 new jobs are expected to be created in the town of Székesfehérvár in central Hungary when Grundfos commence production from GMH IV, their fourth production facility in Hungary.
The GMH IV will be Grundfos’ largest production facility built outside Denmark in one go and covers a gross floor area of 31,935 m² distributed on production area, R&D facilities, technology centre, show room, offices, canteen, locker rooms, gym, container and utility areas. Furthermore, the project comprises two deep basements for testing of pumps.
In line with Grundfos’ overall strategy of delivering products that contribute with energy efficient and sustainable solutions for Grundfos’ customers, the GMH IV project also includes a LEED screening. This consists of investigations of efficient energy use, water use, selection of green materials and careful selection of building materials ensuring that the project fulfils the requirements to achieve a LEED NC (New Construction) “Gold” rating.
Aqvila’s extensive knowledge of local building practices and close cooperation with its local sub-consultants ensured a very cost-effective building, while our architectural design skills and close cooperation with the client ensured a finished facility that respects Grundfos’ strict requirements for function and aesthetics.
