Danish engineering company Burmeister & Wain Scandinavian Contractor A/S (BWSC) was in June 2018 awarded the contract to build a 56 MW power plant. The new plant consists of four new MAN dual-fuel engines incl. associated infrastructure. The new engines will replace nine (out of 17) aged engines that will be retiring between now and 2020.

Aqvila won the design sub-contract for the reinforced concrete structures, primary steel structures, secondary steel structures and façade girts. Aqvila’s scope of work included detailed design of all reinforced concrete sub- and superstructures, including 3D modelling of the structures and preparation of bar-bending schedules as well as detailed design of steel superstructures, secondary steel structures and cladding supports, including 3D modelling of the structures and preparation of workshop drawings and documents.

All structures of the power plant are pile supported.
