Description

The highest building in Aalborg. An approx. 70 m high building constructed from a trinity of pillars with the same architectural form as the old cement silos. When completed the building will have a gross floor area of approx. 18.000 m², and the building will house 166 apartments as well as a café.

The contractor NNC Danmark was in 2017 awarded the Design-Build & Turnkey contract for “Horisonten” in Nørresundby, Denmark. 

Aqvila agreed to station one (1) employee at NCC to lead NCC Engineering’s design team responsible for designing the building structures. Aqvila’s scope of services included management of the design team, development of and agreeing on the structural model/principles with the Contractor (NCC Danmark), communicating with the authorities, preparing the design basis and participating in preparing the structural design.

Scope of services

Design management and engineering of reinforced concrete sub- and superstructures for the 22-storey tall apartment towers with footprint of three intersecting circles and the 3-story base building with partial basement.
