Description

Danish engineering company Burmeister & Wain Scandinavian Contractor A/S (BWSC) was in November 2013 awarded a contract to build a 40 MW turnkey biomass (straw and wood chip) power plant in Lincolnshire, England. Aqvila subsequently won the supply sub-contract for the mechanical platform and pipe support steel structures inside the Turbine building.

The power plant is located on a green field site located near the town of Brigg close to Old River Ancholme in Lincolnshire in the eastern part of England.

The power plant consists among other buildings of a Main Building (divided in a Service building, a Boiler building, a Turbine building and an Office building). Only the steel structures inside the Turbine building are included in Aqvila scope of works, which comprise detailed connection design, manufacture and supply of structural steel.

Scope of services

Engineering and connection design of steel structures.

Procurement and supply of platform and pipe support steel for the Turbine building.
